Meet Dr. Jared Jacobskind
Dentistry is, quite literally, in my blood. As the son of a dentist, I watched how my father did more than just care for people’s teeth. His charismatic nature and love of classic rock and roll put his patients at ease, and created lifelong relationships. I saw this first hand when Hurricane Sandy hit my hometown in Long Island and destroyed his dental office. Within hours of the five feet of water receding from his office, it was filled with not just his family and staff, but his patients, who came out in droves to help him rebuild. During what could have been the most stressful time of his life, the people who he helped showed up with support.
I decided to stop pursuing a career in engineering, and apply to dental school in the weeks after Hurricane Sandy.
Being a dentist is more than toothpaste and porcelain crowns, and that is why I pursued a dual degree as both a Doctor of Dental Surgery, and an MBA in Healthcare Management. I know that to best serve my patients, my office has to be a well run operation, that puts our client’s needs first.
After serving our Veteran community during my General Practice Residency at the Northport Veteran Affairs Medical Center, my wife and I decided to relocate our growing family to central Connecticut. We fell in love with crisp New England fall mornings, vibrant downtowns juxtaposed with quiet farms, and the community we have found in the Greater Hartford area.
I practiced as an associate dentist at two practices before finding Windsor Progressive Dental Care. Upon my first meeting with Dr. Steven Farley, it was clear that this practice fit the ethos that I was looking for. Dr. Farley practiced with a patients first mindset, and I know he considers his patients his extended family.
The team and I look forward to continuing to put your dental needs at the forefront of every decision and interaction at Windsor Progressive Dental Care. The marriage of excellent dental care, modern technology, patient comfort, and classic rock and roll is the cornerstone of Windsor Progressive Dental Care.
Outside of the Office
Outside of the office, I am lucky enough to be surrounded by wonderful girls. My wife, Marsha, and I have three daughters. Watching our family grow has been the greatest joy in life.
I would love to share interesting hobbies with you, but as a Dad of three young children, my hobbies include reading the same book over and over (and over), drawing with chalk, taking walks while pushing a stroller, and maintaining peace over favorite toys. When I do find some down time, I enjoy writing computer code and working on projects around my house. My favorite project was combining two closets into a speakeasy style hidden mudroom/passthrough.
